Abstract

Poets have typically made their reference to historical events, folk stories, and national myths. However, some have focused on these issues in a very outstanding manner.
Farrokhi Yazdi, the late poet, is the one who- like his contemporaries vahid, Bahar, and Adib Al-Mamalek - has paid special attention to historical and mythological concepts. Motivated further by Mashruteh (Constitution) movement, he pointed his poetry at the servility of the rulers of his time to foreigners and the resulting backwardness of the country.
Picking the historical and mythological hints in Farrokhi's anthology, the present article explains the poet's motifs as well as the literary approach he adopts to his subject matters.
