In modem industry and business, worldwide power and influence belong to those who have the advantage of vision, clear-cut ideas, and sophisticated equipment. Those in world trade seek to adopt appropriate scientific and practical strategies to stabilize or promote their capabilities.
We are living in an era called “Information Age”. It has affected our lives in many ways. The age is mainly featured by easy-to-get and fast-moving information. The feature has strongly influenced economics, politics, and culture. The introduction of computers and internet has further strengthened the influence and extended it to other aspects of life. New developments in electronics have pushed the frontiers of information Technology beyond national borders, creating a highly competitive world community. Any success in economic competitions entails rapid access to correct information. A tough competition is already raging on among countries regardless of their language, nationality, and social structure differences. To fit in with the new business circumstances, each country has to update its commercial methods and products. As for developing countries, survival is not possible unless they start building up beyond traditional trade methods.
Owing to the fact that Iran, with one percent of the population of the world shares less than 0.001 of the world’s electronic trade, there is no choice but to adopt new sophistications. Compared to such nearby countries as Turkey, India, and Pakistan, Iran ranks 57 in the world of electronic trade. This is why serious measures for rank improvement are in order. Any negligence in this case may lead to a loss of business opportunities and the retardation of the country in favor of its competitors.
