Abstract

On the basis of statements quoted from shiite and sunnite scholars, the article verifies the types of proposed sharitable goods and speculates on the religious whys and wherefores for them, the author mainly seeks to answer two questions:
A) Whether charity is to be paid just on nine items, that is, three types of livestock, four corns, as well as gold and silver, and
B) Whether in the case of other goods, charity is on obligation or just an option better to take, or otherwise. The article argues that merchandise, being no one of the items mentioned above, assumes no charity on it.
