Abstract

Abstract
Sociology of the body is one of the new and important fields of sociology. Investigating physicality in any society leads us to the type of view and worldview that governs societies, towards the human body. In this research, based on Asadi Toosi's Garshaspnama, the topic of physicality was investigated to determine what kind of view the Iranian society of Asadi's era had on the body, and also what kind of attitude this epic poem has towards the human body in terms of genre and specific literary type. had. In this research, we have addressed topics such as religious body, class body, body language, etc. From an ideological point of view, the body is placed in front of the soul and is humiliated in Garshaspnameh, and although the body is praised in terms of aesthetics and inner strength, it is nothing but a body that is a prison of the soul and has no separate validity. The class body also includes the body of the king, the warrior and the women of the warriors, but the descriptions of the body of the king and the women of the warriors gain meaning next to the body of the warrior and are centered on him. In general, Asadi's view of the body is a racial-class view. This descriptive-analytical research has been compiled with the library method and relying on Garshaspnameh and reference works of Persian literature.
