Abstract

The myth is a type of metaphor that due to its repeatability and intertextual nature, has always been reproduced in Persian prose and poetical works. Poets have developed the semantic and aesthetic aspects of their works with the help of the image-creating element. Mythical characters in the epic era have changed from the role of God to the form of an epic warrior and have become mythic-epic characters. For this reason, many characters and epic narratives have a mythological background, which in later times have changed from the world of mythology to epics and have undergone changes and transformations. The extent of reproduction of mythological-epic characters and narratives in Afghanistanian women's poetry requires proper research to be done in this regard. Thus, the present article tries to reflect the mythological-epic characters and narratives in the poetry of Afghanistanian women, relying on the poems of Khaleda Forough, Leila Asrahat Roshni, and Leila Kavian, in a descriptive-analytical way, based on the intertextual opinions of Gérard Genette. The findings of this research show that contemporary female poets of Afghanistan use mythic-epic elements with the functions of modeling, strengthening the fighting spirit, expressing greatness, describing and creating space, reprimanding and blaming, ideological, expressing importance, illustrating and creating themes in an allusive, allegorical, Implicit intertextual reference and explicit intertextual reference, have been recreated. With the help of mythological-epic elements, these poets have reflected social, ideological, romantic concepts, condemned the political tyranny of the country's royal system. And depicted the social situation during the civil wars.
