Abstract

The connection between music and poetry is noteworthy from two perspectives: the first is the subject of songs and different parallels of words that form the musical field of poetry, and the second is the use of musical instruments and terms in poetry Poets of different eras have created various images and meanings using musical instruments The lute instrument is one of the musical instruments that Persian- poets have used in various ways in their poems since the Rudaki era and have provided many images, meanings, and lexical links Analyzing its evolution from a stylistic point of view, it can show the creativity or imitation of different poets, Therefore, in the present study, we have composed a corpus of 79 poets consisting of five sections and 360 poems, and we have described and analyzed the relevant imagery through structural methods and content analysis The results of the research show that the 6th to 8th century is the peak of imagery and meaning creation with this ancient instrument. Most of the use of this tool is in the rhetorical device, lexical links are in the second order. Also, semantic interpretations and thematic interpretations can be seen in different periods of Persian poetry. Among the poets of all eras, Khaqani has the most varied usage, both in terms of the frequency of verses containing the verse and in terms of specific uses.
