Abstract
Archaism is one of the many principles of defamiliarization in Russian formalistic theory. The application of archaistic language or the poet’s escape from common language and the application of old language structure that has no standard language today is called archaism. This research attempts to describe and analyze the archaism in Hamid Mosadegh poetry. It is a matter of concern that the poet sometimes tends to deliberately or unconsciously use archaistic words and phrases apt to his poetic .structure. He has this point in his mind that using archaistic words and phrases is one of the important methods of endowing to the poetic language. This uncommon method causes highlights and prevents the habits in native language. This article will analyze archaism of Nima’s poetry reflected in Mosadegh’s poems by going through the text semantically and syntactically.
