Archetype of Shadow is one of the most important subjects in Jung’s
theory. In Jung’s view shadow is a negative and animalistic aspect of
personality and isn’t in line with rules and customs of conscious life and
Man always tries to hide it. While
Man must know that shadow is an
opportunity to individual and needs to make use of it without suppression.
In this article archetype of shadow will be analyses in Shahnameh. The most
important types of shadow (Zahhak and White demon) will be explained.
Th
e negative and positive aspects of shadow and its effects on the creation
of psychic energy will be clarified. And finally the collective and personal
aspects of shadow will be analyzed.
